THE BITE OF THE BIG APPLE


I arrived in New York 4 days ago (together with Hurricane Isabel) at around 5:30 AM, our Vice President Mike C, (good looking half Italian half American boy) was nice enough to pick me from the airport, I had to attend a conference that same day at 8am.

So after spending 5 grueling hours at the airplane, (spent only 9 hours in Denver) I had to fly to New York, that same day I arrived in Denver, I had to wear a suit, put on a face and meet a gazillion people.

I have learned to commute by train from Long Island going to the Westside. Mike C. would pick me up every morning, then we'd go to the Lindenhurst station, park his car there and take the train going to UnionDale. It's a good 45 minute trip one way.

Had a few drinks after work at this bar near Central Park, since it is daylight-saving time, drinking at 6pm was like drinking at 4pm in the afternoon. Jet-lagged, 3 hours sleep, I almost got trashed after one drink.

Today, it was my second day of training for one of our major accounts, I had to drive all the way to Northshore, 45 min from the Island, beautiful place, I heard it was once a sea port.

If you are in New York, you would definitely do a lot of walking, because cabs are not only expensive, the cab drivers are also rude.

Anyway, it's a Friday night, hoping to go to the East Village, If I can find friends who I can hook up with.
